What is Canine Good Citizen Certification? The AKC Canine Good Citizen program is a training course that teaches dogs and their owners some of the best practices needed to become good neighbors, friends and participants in society. The focus of the program is equipping dogs and their owners with good communication skills to successfully navigate the world together through calm and controlled behaviors. Eligibility The Canine Good Citizen Program is not exclusive to age or titled purebred dogs but to any age, breed, or mixed breed.
