Canine Good Citizen Test

Service Description

The Canine Good Citizen test has 10 exercises, and the dog MUST pass all 10 to earn its certificate. The exercises include the following: 1. Accepting a friendly stranger. 2. Sitting politely for petting. 3. Appearance and grooming. 4. Out for a walk. 5. Walking through a crowd. 6. Sit & down on command and staying in place. 7. Come when called. 8. Reaction to another dog. 9. Reaction to distraction. 10. Supervised separation. The handler is allowed to talk to the dog during all of the test exercises, except for supervised separation as the handler is not present. Food or treats, clickers, toys, and corrective collars are not allowed to be used during the test. A dog that growls, snaps, or bites (directed towards another dog or a human) at any time will be dismissed from the test.
